Three ways to put hope in a child's hands
We are small, local, and hands-on by design. That means there is real room for you here — whether you give once, apply for help for a child you know, or bring your company along.
Give
One-time or recurring gifts to the Fund. Every dollar goes to a Chicagoland child, school, or program we have visited in person. Eligible donations made to the Fund are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

For families, teachers, schools, and organizations. Tell us your basic information, share your story, and include any documentation that helps verify the need — a letter from a doctor, school psychologist, counselor, or other professional, or even a link to a news article.

Businesses and community groups can sponsor a specific program, match gifts, or host a drive. The towing community has already shown what this looks like.

Questions
Frequently asked
Is my donation tax deductible?
Abigail & Caleb's Legacy Foundation is a recognized nonprofit organization with IRS approval and its own Employer Identification Number (EIN). As a tax-exempt charitable organization, eligible donations made to the Fund are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Does any money go to the Oswald family?
No. From the very first day, the family has been clear that they will not keep these funds. Everything is directed to children, families, schools, and programs outside the family.
Why only the Chicago area?
Because we want to be there in person. Staying local lets us visit every recipient, verify every need, and show donors exactly what their gift did. We would rather do a small area well.
How do you choose who receives support?
Needs come to us from teachers, medical staff, community members, and families. We then meet the people involved and confirm the need is specific and demonstrable before we fund it.
Can I fundraise on your behalf?
Yes, and we would love the help. Email us first so we can give you the right logo files, wording, and a donation link that tracks back to your effort.
